The core projects of our laboratory, both in diagnostic and research terms, have been for many years molecular genetics (human and veterinary) and molecular microbiology (human and veterinary).
By integrating the world of humans and the world of animals into one molecular-microbiological program, we have been able to gain a comprehensive insight into infectious diseases in their entirety, including infectious diseases of humans, animals, and overlapping zoonotic entities.
In the field of molecular genetics, we search for causative pathogenic mutations in humans and animals, associated with severe genetic diseases and inborn genetic syndromes. The importance of this work is primarily in genetic counseling and purposeful efforts to preserve the genetic health and well-being both of humans and animals.
Our lab is equipped with state-of-the-art molecular technology for multiplex Real-Time PCR, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing - the technology allows us to provide flexible, fast and comprehensive molecular diagnostics even in the most challenging clinical settings.
